As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster. – Henry Hill (Ray Liotta), Goodfellas
As far back as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to create wondrous ideas and stories. As a child my mother would find me wandering in my head for hours, usually just a pencil in my hand and a few notes on the sheet of paper in front of me. She would think I was procrastinating my homework. However, in my head was a world of thoughts and ideas. Even though this got me in trouble with my mother and countless teachers at school, I never stopped imagining different worlds, lives and stories. I survived the scolding of teachers and priests alike, allowing my mother watch me cross the graduation stage proudly.
Now I am in the real world trying to follow my dream of creating stories and sharing them with the world. Currently I am writing short stories, working on projects and— ‘with a little help from my friends’— getting this blog up in the air.
The current assignment is an investigation on the presidential election. In 2008, I had the benefit of working on staff for Obama for America in the North Carolina Campaign for Change. In the coming months I will be retracing my steps in order to document the past and catch up with the present. It was a crazy three months in ’08, and it’s time to reconnect with my southern county

MORE about moi…
I was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to a Cuban-Costa Rican family and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. My Latino Diaspora upbringing has always been a driving force in my life and creativity, allowing me an insatiable curiosity for topics from around the globe. My studies have made me a Blue Jay at Creighton Preparatory and a Hawkeye at the University of Iowa where my emphases included English, International Studies, Religious Studies and Spanish. My family watched me cross the stage at graduation in the winter of 2010.
Being born of a Cuban and Costa Rican has given me a view of many different worlds and a passion for life. “You are a hurricane of energy,” I’ve been told. This can only be attributed to my culture, family and parents. Being a Cuban man, my father enjoyed life in the full way Cuban men do. While my mother, a Tica of Costa Rica, lived by the motto of Los Ticos, “¡Pura Vida!” I was born on ‘La Isla del Encanto,’ also known as Puerto Rico. Then educated in the mid-west, Omaha. It doesn’t get much sweeter.
I’ve had my struggles, my stories, days when all one can say is “whatever, it doesn’t matter, such is life.” Day’s when all you can do is drag on a cigarette and say “oui, ce va.”But I’ve already been too frank too soon. Hope you enjoy the site! ¡Disfruta amores!
